Six more weeks…
Six more weeks…
Punxatawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter this week, and his prediction was borne out by snow on Wednesday, February 3. An earlier storm, pictured, dropped 7 inches on the area. A snow storm brushed the coast on January 18, leaving behind 7 inches of snow in parts of Castine and Penobscot, with more further south. It was one of several significant storms during the month. Here, lobster pots gather snow outside Dennett’s Wharf, while Maine Maritime Academy’s research vessel, Argo, sits in the harbor on a snowy morning.
